Hi, I’m Angelo van Meurs.
About me:
My development career has its roots in being a high school script kid by automating math assignments.
Now I’m a professional developer.
I’m an autodidact – I’ve taught myself most that I know. After starting a course in UX, I decided a bachelor in IT was a better match. This is still a work in progress. Still, I believe that there is no substitute for intrinsic motivation and a curious mind, regardless of education.
I strongly believe a solid foundation is essential for delivering value. This means my horizon is broad: Through projects I've learned about software development, Linux servers, networking, embedded systems and C.
Through professional experience I've sharpened my backend development skills, picked up frontend development, learned to work in a team and solidified my work ethic.
On a more personal note: I love to be in nature. I enjoy hiking and camping. I like books that make me think and things that challenge my preconceived notions.
I try to spend some of my off time to develop hobby projects. For example, my website is hosted on a little converted NAS-server that I flashed with Linux. Also, I test website accessibility for people with a limitation for Stichting Voorall. Because of my technical expertise, I am one of the few that also helps examining endpoint safety.
Responsible for maintaining and extending the lottery- and giveaway hosting PaaS ecosystem.
This includes but is not limited to extending the authorization and authentication processes,
adding new functionalities and creating robust and properly tested API endpoints.
I also help with frontend development.
